Villeneuve HEMA Tournament
Our yearly tournament will take place in the Romée gymnasium of Villeneuve-Loubet (French Riviera, close to Nice).
Four tournaments will run over two days: longsword, sword & buckler, rapier and dussack. You will be allowed to participate to up to 2 tournaments.
Tournaments will be run through pool fights and then proceed to quarter, semi and finals. To be selected from pools, just remember the most important thing: hit opponent without behing hit yourself and avoid double hits at all cost.
The ruleset will be the same for tournaments except for the Dussack which will have an atypical system.
A free sparring area will be available all the week-end, with some sword games, just …for fun and sharing.
Rapier, sword and buckler and longsword will be fought using safe, flexible enough steel weapons. Wood & leather for dussack. A plastic or leather blunt is mandatory on sword tips. Courtesy in the ring and generally good behaviour will be asked and enforced.
