This event is the second event of the Nordic Historical Fencing League (NHFL), and will consist of men’s longsword, women’s longsword and rapier & dagger.

Schedule

The event will start on Friday the 7th 16.00 and will end on Saturday the 8th 19.00. Rapier & dagger will be held on friday, and the longsword tournaments on saturday. A more detailed schedule will be available here at a later date.

Rules

Rules for longsword and rapier and dagger can be read below together with equipment requirement. Be sure that you have the necessary equipment or you will not be allowed to participate. Swords for men’s and women’s longsword will be provided by the event. The rapier & dagger tournament will be a “bring your own sword”. Specifications can be found in the equipment document. The rules are the same as the ones used at Sweden Open 2016.

Accommodation

Accommodation can unfortunately not be arranged by the event. For those coming from out of town, Scandic Triangeln is a good option, located within a 10 minutes bus trip from the venue.

Registration & payment

Participating in a tournament will cost 800 SEK. Each additional tournament you want to participate in costs 300 SEK. If you are not participating in a tournament, the event is free. You do not count as registered before the registration fee is received. You must be over 18 years of age to participate in the tournaments.

Last day for registration is March 31 but the tournament spots might be filled before that. Registration is binding and the fee will not be refunded.

Call for judges and staff

You are very welcome to volunteer as a judge or staff (secretariat or armband duty) in all the tournaments where you do not compete. You will receive a 200 SEK discount for volunteering at the men’s longsword, 100 SEK for the women’s longsword and 150 SEK for the rapier & dagger tournament. The refunds will be made after the event.

There is no guarantee that you will be selected as tournament staff, e.g. if there is enough staff for the tournaments that you can assist in.

The dress code for judges are a white dress shirt/blouse and black skirt/dress pants. Black vest, dress shoes, and black tie or bow tie are encouraged but not mandatory.

If you are interested to judge or staff a tournament, please fill in the registration form mentioned above. You are very welcome to judge or staff a tournament without participating in any competition at all.

Venue

The event will take place at the big hall in Heleneholms sporthall at Ystadvägen 25 in Malmö. The venue is located about 100 meters from the nearest bus stop named Malmö Musikhögskolan.

If you plan on flying we recommend that you go to Copenhagen Airport. From there it’s just a 20 minute train ride to Malmö Triangeln.

The venue is easily accessible from both Malmö Central Station and Malmö Triangeln Station with bus 2 towards Kastanjegården. Tickets can be bought on the bus with VISA, VISA Electron, MasterCard or Maestro.
